Communications and Engagement

Communications performs a pivotal role at the trust engaging with internal stakeholders of staff and volunteers and external audiences including patients, visitors and all members of the public within our catchment area.

Communication links the trust with patients, the public, media, stakeholders, partner organisations, staff and volunteers.

The Communications Team has a wide-ranging remit for all aspects of internal and external communications including:

  • Strategic communications
  • Media relations
  • Event management
  • External communications
  • Internal communications
  • Patient and public engagement
  • Corporate identity

Our press office deals with enquiries from local, regional and national media and aims to provide a fast and efficient response.

Engagement is about putting our patients and members of the public at the heart of our hospital and community services. We believe that people have a right to be actively involved in decisions that affect their lives and well being.

Our trust listens to and involves patients, carers and the public in all aspects of our activity. You have the opportunity to get involved in decisions about your healthcare and influence the services you use.

The NHS Identity is one of the most cherished and recognised brands in the world.  When applied correctly and consistently, it evokes exceptionally high levels of trust and reassurance.  All users of the NHS Identity have a responsibility to protect it and ensure we achieve the national standard that our patients expect from the NHS.

At East Cheshire NHS Trust we follow the NHS Identity to reassure people that our services are part of the NHS family, and that these services are being delivered in line with our values to present a consistent, approachable and recognisable image of our Trust in all our communications no matter what the message – positive or negative, straightforward or complex.
